We help children realize their potential and build their futures. We nurture children and strengthen communities. And we couldn't do any of it without you. We believe that inherent in every child is the ability to succed and thrive in life. Most children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters live in single-parent and low-income families or households where a parent is incarcerated. As the nation's largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers ("Bigs") nd children ("Littles").Big Brothers Big Sisters is proven by independent studies to help families by improving the odds that Littles will:

Bowl for Kids' Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters most important fund-raising campaign. All money raised stays locally and goes directly toward matching children.Bowl for Kid's Sake is an easy and fun way to make a difference. It's a party with a team of friends, neighbors, or colleagues. It's not your skill or your score that counts - it's your effort! For the bowlers and sponsors alike, the greatest satisfaction comes from knowing you've helped kids in our community.

Carol and Brittanie were matched 2 year ago. Carol decided to become a mentor because she did not have grandchildren and felt she had a lot to offer a young person. Brittanie had a difficult building friendships, but her friendship with Carol has blossomed into something special. The whole family has beocme involved with this relationship, but Brittanie enjoys the alone time with Carol making poodle skirts, playing games and volunteering at Dow Rummell.
Travis and Devon became matched 2 years agol because Devon lives in a single parent home and he needed a positive male role model. The two have engaged in some unique activities together, but mostly love to just hang out. Travis says that just driving around Sioux Falls can make a great night with Devon, but biking down Tut Hill without breaks, getting 'delicious' mangoes from HyVee late at night and spending most of the day at Valley Fair speaking with fake Canadian accents are among their most memorable times.
