A study conducted by Public/Private Ventures a national research firm examined the impact of Big Brothers Big Sisters on youth and found that when compared to their peers, Little Brothers and Little Sisters who met with their Big Brothers or Big Sisters for at least one year were:
46% less likely to start using drugs
27% less likely to start drinking
33% less likely to act violently
52% less likely to skip a day of school and earned higher grades.

A recent study completed by Harris Interactive, 2009, of Adult Littles indicate the long-term impact a Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor will have on a child. This study indicates:
Adut Littles are 27% more likely than non-alumni to receive a four-year college degree.
Adult Littles are 39% more likely than non-alumni to have acurrent household income of $75,000.
Adult Littles are more likely than non-alumni to be engaged in their community when it comes to volunteering and holding a leadership role in an organization working on an issue.
Mentor Mom
According to follow-up contact and evaluation of new moms involved in the Mentor Mom program,
92% had not had a repeat pregnancy
92% were working on or had finished high school/GED
67% were working part or full time
25% were applying to or continuing their post-secondary education
79% stated they learned a variety of living and parenting skills
