One of the biggest misconceptions about being a Big Brother, Big Sister or Mentor Mom is that it means being a perfect role model. What it really means is being a friend and bringing a little magic into the life of someone else.
Who is a BIG?
A Big is a volunteer who spends time with someone else. Big Couples are accepted.
Must be 16 years or older
Must be able to commit to a minimum of 4 hours per month
Must be able to commit to at least one year
We require that each potential Big has an in-person interview, provides up to 4 references, and authorizes us to complete a criminal background and Department of Motor Vehicle record check which have a $50 fee, payable by cash, check or credit card on the day of the interview. Bigs are also required to complete mentor training. Each of our programs have special requirements. Please see the specific programs for details.
