Raising money can be a daunting prospect but if you follow the steps below, not only can it be successful, but fun!
Step 1: Set Up Your Fundraising Page
Every Edger gets their own dedicated webpage that will provide them with tools to manage donations, track process, and more.
Step 2: Tell Us Your Story
On your dedicated Edger page, you will have the option to include a photo, the story about why you are participating, and links to your fundraising page.
We encourage Bigs to share a story of their Little!
Step 3: Set a Fundraising Goal
$1,000 is the minimum to participate in going Over the Edge, but don't stop there! Get to higher levels and you could qualify for perks - like a helmet-mounted camera or VIP treatment.
Step 4: Spread the Word
Start telling your friends, family, and coworkers about the event and encourage them to help you reach your fundraising goal.
Social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat) are a great way to generate excitement, but you can also send e-mails, write personal letters, or make phone calls.
Step 5: Don't Forget About Company Matches
Check with your employer to see if they will match your donations and be sure to ask your donors if their companies offer that perk as well. It is a great way to maximize your fundraising power.
Step 6: Monitor Your Progress
Check your personal fundraising page every day and keep an eye on how far you are getting.
Set benchmarks for yourself along the way. Then you will know if you need to do more to reach your goal.
Step 7: Remind People
Everyone gets busy and they may not be able to make a donation the first time you ask. People often need a kind reminder before they will sign up. A gentle nudge from you can help get them going.
Step 8: Consider Your Own Fundraiser
Think of a fun way to get people to contribute to your fundraising goals. Whether this is a party, picnic, car wash, or any other event that will get people excited for you and your fundraising goals. The possibilities are unlimited and we are here to help you!
Step 9: Have Fun!
Fundraising can be a lot of work but it can also be a great way to connect with people who want to make a difference in the life of a child.
Your fundraising process will be a lot of ups and downs, but in the end it will be a blast!
